Patricia Price was born in 1957, grew up in New Jersey and Massachusetts, and moved to Worcester in 1992 while recovering from a substance use disorder. In 1996 she was assigned to help type a grant for AIDS Project Worcester through a temp agency and has worked there since then, starting as a secretary and eventually becoming Director of Program Support services. In this interview Patricia describes how AIDS Project Worcester works to support community members, emphasizing that she is proud of its food bank, and explains that she feels it is important to help those in need. She talks about her health issues, which culminated in a liver transplant in 2016 and left her immuno-compromised. She describes negative experiences in the healthcare system and expresses concern for those who cannot advocate for themselves in the healthcare system.
